On the night of 30th September, I was invited to be a part of Zindagi’s launch event through IndiPR. The event took place in the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Worli, Mumbai.
Before we get into the specifics of the event, here’s a little background on Zindagi,
Zindagi is the No. 1 Premium Entertainment Channel, was launched with the promise of bringing the best shows from across the world to Indian television screens. A thought leader in premium entertainment with a distinct character, Zindagi presents finite world stories with bold narratives that unveil universal emotions.
The channel’s positioning “Yeh Lamha Hi Hai Zindagi” mirrors the essence of the word Zindagi. Across the world, life is a finite procession of moments and it’s important that we live each and every one of them. That’s the top line of the channel, literally. Again a departure from traditional base lines associated with most brands and true to the thought leader grain of Zindagi.
To be brutally honest, I’m not a T.V. watcher. I was a big time T.V. maniac in my childhood days, but since the day I moved to Mumbai to pursue my college education, I completely stopped watching T.V. (because there wasn’t one in my Hostel). It’s been almost 8 years now that I’ve been celebrating No T.V. Day.
Having said that, it’s very very difficult for someone to get me hooked to T. V. No, I’m not gonna tell you that the event got me hooked to the T.V. again, but the way how it was carried ahead, I feel that finally, Indian Television has taken some baby steps towards improving the content, for good.
When Zindagi first launched in India, they were mostly about bringing the cross-border content together for the Indian and Pakistani viewers. However, their content strategy has changed over the time, due to obvious conflicts with our neighbours.
Zindagi is set to launch 6 new prime-time shows from 3rd of October. The show names and details are as below,
Fighting Parents. Broken Marriage. Child’s Play !
An endearing tale of a parent-child relationship seen through the lens of a six year old.
Mehmet’s mischievous acts at school and at home in a bid to unite his ever fighting parents result in heart-melting moments that make you feel for him. With his adorable antics, Mehmet tries to tackle the negativity around him with a child’s mind.
Through it’s light-hearted and warm treatment, the series re-emphasizes the importance of family.
Got Raped. Married Rapist. Loves Husband.
Meandering along the ups and downs of faith, Fatmagul paints the lovely saga of an innocent girl, who finds love in someone who has apparently destroyed her life.
TV Ke Uss Paar
TV OCD Mom Enters TV World !
A tongue-in-cheek sitcom on the world of daily soaps and a reality check on how today’s society is obsessed with television.
Agar Tum Saath Ho
Janam Janam Ka Saath…Nahi Hai ?
A love story destroyed by class differences and an over-protective father.
Khwaabon Ki Zamin Par
Bollywood Dreams Versus His Personal Values.
The story of glitz and glamour of Bollywood on one hand, and his personal values on the other!
After the phenomenal success of Feriha, Zindagi viewers’ all-time favourite will be back with its second season.
Along with these new prime-time shows, Zindagi is also set to launch Zindagi Awesomes, which will feature the most respected movies from India. Stories, Makers, and Movies that have defined Indian Cinema. These movies are set for Sundays.
Back to the event specifics, the presentation was then followed by a fine-dine. Delicious and exotic food, of course, I wouldn’t know those names. IndiBlogger and Zindagi have always been the best of the hosts. It would be really very interesting to see how Zindagi gradually transforms the typical Saas-Bahu serials watching viewers to the viewers who thrive for quality and are modest about the finite stories.
