Five Reasons Why I Love Berlin

Five years ago, I moved to Berlin – which changed my life ✦

Every day I wake up feeling grateful that I get to live in this city.

As an anniversary reflection, I’ll give you 5 reasons why I think Berlin is the best city in the world…

1 ➤

Berlin doesn’t care where you come from, how you identify yourself, or whom you are doing, it’s for everyone. Whatever phase of life you’re in, you can find your tribe here and hence the sense of belonging.

As a frequent traveler, I’ve seen many places but there’s no match.

2 ➤

Berlin is a bunch of different cities put together as one. Every neighborhood has its own unique vibe. Just stroll through the streets, and you’ll keep discovering new things.

3 ➤

Berlin has nature in abundance. You won’t walk more than 10 minutes without stumbling into a park. And there are about 3K lakes spread throughout the city.

Then there’s easy access to countless hiking & biking trails – enough to keep you busy for the whole summer.

4 ➤

You don’t need much to live a good life in Berlin. Most outdoor spaces are free, and the living cost is one of the lowest among European capitals. Eating outside is also cheaper – long live the Döner.

Once you sort out the housing, life is easily managed.

5 ➤

Berlin has many seasons and it changes drastically with them. Visit us in winter and then in summer, you’ll have experienced two entirely different cities.

In a way, it mimics life. The dark winters make us fully appreciate the bright summers.

I can go on singing the praise for Berlin, but I don’t want to give you the obvious ones like the stellar public transport, social welfare system, air quality, etc.

I’m just glad to be here.
